It doesn't seem like I am in that many clubs, and I really am not. It's just that when I added on the Joe Cool kit and then it arrives the day before the Seven Deadly S(p)ins shipment-and all this after my IrishGirlie visit...well...it was pretty difficult to continue along with my exisitng projects! So I cast on for Sandy Wiseharts's Nicholas Mitt's which I had told my friend I would knit her for her birthday. Being that I said that last year and her birthday is coming up again (September), I suddenly realized that a bit of motivation was in order.
I had the yarn and pattern together for months! The yarn is STR lightweight in the Rauen colorway and I'm using it doubled.
Clicking on the pic will give you the
*ginormous size pic and you can see the colorway a bit better. It seems there isn't a Raven colorway I don't love! This one has reds and browns, but the variations are subtle.
(*If I recall correctly this is the CookieA term for the largest Flickr pic size-mega-resolution!!!)
And the Joe Cool kit was so awesome-and the yarn feels so good...and it is a small foot I'm knitting socks for, that I was compelled to CO immediately for the Joe Cool pattern! I hand-wound the skein yesterday morning and am on my way...!
This colorway is really incredible! Mostly a rich red and black, with a bit of brown (and maybe I even detect some navy). I am definitely ordering another skein, as well as the Cool Blue colorway!

And behold, the next Deadly S(p)in-SLOTH! I think the hat pattern it came with is absolutely adorable and so fitting for "SLOTH"! I will be reading the notes on this shipment as soon as I am off the 'puter!
Hmmmm...about this kit...It has some luscious black angora in the kit for-get this-lining the ear-flaps! Besides the 8 g. of angora, there is also 50 g. of Footprints yarn in Studmuffin colorway and 70 g. of Footprints in Siesta Fiesta colorway! And, of course, we got the pattern, some 'sloth' tea, and a row counter! OH...and a "Seven Deadly S(p)ins button!
This is such a fun way to explore the Unique Sheep yarns and anything WoolGirl Jen-related is always a big winner with me!!! Another cool thing about this kit is that if you are of the sock persuasion and not into hats, you can always use the yarn for socks or mittens-that's what is suggested for alternative projects! So there you have it-I snuck a bit of YPF in tonight!
